Community Spaces


There are several buildings available for public use in the Parish, most are managed held in trust for the benefit of parish residents and are run by volunteers. Sennen Parish Council is an active partner with most of these buildings. Find details of the management of these buildings:


The small playground sited next to the school is open to the public outside of school hours under a lease agreement between Truro and Penwith Academy Trust and Sennen Parish Council.


Social and luncheon club for local residents. Currently home of Sennen and Lands End Pre School, situated at the Northern end of the village, a comfortable, small space for meetings and activities.

A community centre for the use of elderly persons (residing in the Parish of Sennen) without discrimination of sex, or of political, religious or other opinions and in particular for use for meetings, lectures and classes and other forms of recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the condition of life of such persons

The property and the trust fund and its income shall be applied for the purposes of a village hall for the use of the inhabitants of the Parish of Sennen without discrimination of sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, nationality, race or political, religious or other opinions. including use of the property for meetings, lectures and classes or other forms of recreation and leisure time occupation in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.

A large community building located behind Sennen School. The centre is used by the school for activities and is the venue for the weekly Sennen Farmers Market (Tuesday 9:30-12:30). The Management Committee is currently working to secure funds to update and renovate the Centre, adding solar panels, energy efficient heating and accessible toilets along with a music room, gym and library space. The halls and rooms are available for hire.

Sennen Parish Council

(a) To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of Sennen and the neighbourhood without distinction of sex or of political, religious, or other opinions by associating the Local Authorities, voluntary organisations and inhabitants in a common effort to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation and leisure-time occupation with the object of improving the conditions of life for the said inhabitants.

(b) To establish or to secure the establishment of a community centre and to manage or to cooperate with any local statutory authority in the maintenance and management of such a centre for activities provided by the association and its constituent bodies in furtherance of the above objects.

Accounts 2023-24

Formerly Sennen Cove Men’s Institute the Recreation Centre is home to Sennen Surf Club and Cape Cornwall Gig Club and is a perfect base for water based activities, situated on the sea front in Sennen Cove. The Management Committee are fund raising for a new building to replace the centre on this site. The development is due to take place in 2025.
