PUBLIC COUNSULTATION OPEN
PROPOSED SENNEN TRAFFIC CALMING SCHEME EDG2118 West Penwith CNP TRO 2022
Sennen Parish Council has secured £25,000 of funding via the West Penwith Community Network Panel Highways Scheme Fund for the implementation of a traffic calming scheme in Sennen.
Following public consultation, a proposed scheme has been designed by CORMAC in response to the issues identified and suggestions presented by Sennen Parish Council.
This draft proposal is now out for public consultation and feedback. The proposed scheme, scheduled for February 2023, includes:
- “Welcome to Sennen” gateway signs with 30mph terminal speed limit signage, improved gateway features to include 30mph sign and dragons teeth markings on the highway at (i) the entrance to the village east of Whitesands Lodge and (ii) Seaview Holiday Park.
- New 30mph zone moved further east to slow traffic earlier at the westbound entrance to the village.
- New 20mph zones: Sunny Corner Lane, Atlantic Crescent, Cove Road, Cove Hill, Maria’s Lane, Mayon Green Crescent and Horizon Fields.
- New variable 20mph zone and signage on the stretch of the A30 outside school during school times (Trembrase turnoff to mini roundabout).
- Increased 30mph signage on A30 stretch between the mini roundabout and Seaview Holiday Park.
- Four mobile vehicle activated speed camera locations at identified speeding hotspots (Eleni Close and Sennen Churchtown).

The deadline for responding to the draft proposed plan is 13 January 2023 and we encourage any and all feedback / suggestions from parishioners. You may provide comment using the reference EDG2118_SN02 in the following ways:

- Printed plans and a comment book will be available in the following locations until the 9th January 2023 and Sennen Parish Council will collate responses to pass to CORMAC:

- “Souper Wednesday” at Sennen Churchtown Hall 21st December 2022
- A3 printed proposed plan is in Sennen SPAR by the till with a comment book until 12th January 2023
- Copies of the draft proposals and plans are available for public inspection during normal office hours at New County Hall, Treyew Road, Truro, TR1 3AY
